NEW: 5 Day Meal Kits

5 Day Meal Kit Program is now available in Kings Mountain, Crest and Shelby Zones!

School Nutrition Service is offering a Meal Kit with multiple meals to provide better nutritional support for children. Meal Kits include (5) Breakfasts and (5) Lunches designed to easily prepare and enjoy meals when not in school. Note: Students PK-5 grades must be full remote to receive Meal Kits due to the changes to in-person instruction for these grades.

Who qualifies:

  • Students who will only receive (2) days of in-person instruction for the reminder of the school year.
  • Students who receive full remote instruction.
  • Non-enrolled children 18 years old and younger

When and where to pick up:

  • Meal Kits will be available for pick-up every Friday from 12:30 - 1:00.
  • First pick up in Crest-Shelby Zones March 12, 2021

How to order:

  • Parents/Guardians must complete one initial online order one time and include all students/children in their household.
  • Initial order for Meal Kits must be placed by 12 noon on Wednesday before their first pick up.
  • After the initial order is made, no further orders are required to receive Meal Kits weekly.
  • Meal Kits will be provided every Friday through May 21, 2021.
We are launching this program as follows:
Kings Mountain Zone -  Beginning Friday, February 5 (Distribution at KMIS)
Shelby/Crest Zones - Beginning Friday, March 12 (Distribution at SMS)
Burns Zone - TBA
 
These order forms close each Wednesday at 12 noon and reopen each Friday afternoon.
This allows us an opportunity to have all Meal Kits including any new orders ready for the current weeks distribution. Click on the appropriate apple below to order for pick up in your zone.

In addition to Meal Kit distribution we will continue our pick-up meal service as noted below. Please note changes as listed. These meals are available for CCS students when not on campus. Non-enrolled children 18 years old and younger can also receive meals!

Shelby Middle: 11:30 - 12:00 (Daily pick up ends Friday, March 5)

Free and Reduced Priced Meals:
 
Completing an application provides many services for families beyond meals at school.
  1. Discount for internet services
  2. Qualify for future P-EBT funds
  3. Waive cost of ACT, SAT, AP and other tests
  4. Provide discounts for college application process

There are three ways to receive Free and Reduced Meal Benefits:

 
1. Complete a new Free or Reduced Priced Meal Application each year.
Apply online at www.lunchapplication.com or pick up a paper application at your child's school.
 
2. Receive Food and Nutrition Services (formally known as Food Stamps). You will receive a letter in the mail prior to the start of school each year which must list all school age children who qualify.
 
3. Attend a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP ) school. At these schools all students receive free breakfast and lunch.
